Senior captains Lindsey, Logan and Lauren set their sight on the “dub” against rival Dallastown10/4/2016 By Shawn Gunarich News and Feature Editor Red Lion girls Volleyball get the win against Dallastown 27-25 in the last set. It is the rematch senior captains Lindsey Blevins, Logan Dontell and Lauren Enfield have been waiting for. Back on Sept. 6, the team traveled to crosstown rival Dallastown to play their first of two regular season matches. Dallastown pulled the win in four sets, winning all but the first. “The sets were close,” Blevins said, “but we weren't ready, now we are.” This time on Sept. 29 Dallastown traveled into the Lion’s den, heading the match in the Fitzkee Center. The first set was rough for the Wildcats, who fell 25-14; they could not bounce back and lost all three sets to the Lions.
Dontell expressed how the first loss to Dallastown earlier in the season was an eye opener prompting them to buckle down, not losing a match after the first. "The reason we are 9-1 is because of that Dallastown game,” she said. “Dallastown is at their climax, but we are still growing and keep getting better.” The triple L’s of Lindsey, Logan, and Lauren all finish their senior year season knowing they beat their crosstown rivals of Dallastown. But for her underclassmen graduates, Blevins leaves with the advice “stay humble” and “go for every ball.”
