“Singing at the baseball game was crazy,” sophomore John Crone said. “It was so exhilarating and the crowd’s reaction was amazing.”
A roaring applause spread through the stadium as the final notes echoed in the air. A video of the students’ performance on Facebook currently has over 25 thousand views and is still increasing. While singing at the game was the highlight of the trip for many, the fun didn’t stop there. On the first day alone, students visited the Boston Tea Party Museum where they were taken back in time and cast into roles of famous historical figures. They explored the Harbor and ended the night with an interactive performance of the Blue Man Group, who are best known for their incorporation of musical and artistic elements in their stage productions. “If you ever have the chance to see the group I highly recommend it,” senior Jack Taylor said. “It was a laugh for all ages.” After showcasing the musical talent of Red Lion once more by performing at Rose Kennedy Greenway, the choir made its way to the Skywalk observatory to watch the sunset. “My favorite part was going in the Prudential Building to the Observatory,” senior Gretchen Wade said, “from fifty floors above the city you could see for miles.” Over the course of four days the students visited an array of historical sites including the Freedom Trail, JFK Library, and experienced a tour on a Duck Boat. On the way home the group made stops in Newport Rhode Island and at the Mystic Seaport. “I feel like the Boston trip has been the best choir trip I’ve ever gone on. Even better than Disney,” Taylor said. “It truly blew me away.”
