In the book Divergent the author Veronica Roth creates a segregated world that includes five factions for the people.

Abnegation: selflessness, always helping others before themselves; Amity: the peace lovers; Candor: believe in all things 100% truthful even if it hurts; Dauntless: the brave who are stubborn and bullheaded; and the Erudite: who seek knowledge, the more the better.

At the age of sixteen every male and female are tested and put through trials to see if they stay in the faction they were born into or switch factions. Beatrice Prior, an Abnegation born, has always known she never belonged.

After being tested, she receives the results that tell her that she is Divergent, one who shows strengths in more than one faction. She has been warned it’s very dangerous to be Divergent and mustn’t ever tell anyone. Then after she faces the fact she has to pick a faction.

Will she stay loyal to her mom, dad, and older brother Caleb? Or pick what she believes is best for her? Will she find her place? Who will she meet along the way? Divergent is surely a great read and you’ll be hooked from the start!
