With a new school year comes changes.
For years, physical education, or gym class, has been held at the high school two times during a six-day cycle, and then a study hall takes place for the four remaining days.
Now, a typical ninth through eleventh grade student’s schedule consists of gym every single day, but only for one semester.
The three levels of phys ed are PE 1 for freshman, 2 for sophomores, and 3 for juniors. As a senior, gym is no longer a requirement.
Not only is there a change in scheduling, but there’s a change in the activities which take place during the phys ed period.
