Staff Writer UNICEF is a worldwide organization that gives Red Lion Senior High School students the opportunity to make a difference. Senior and UNICEF club president Ellie Lyons urges the school to become more involved in the club because of its constant contributions to underprivileged children. “The money we raise gives underprivileged children clean water, nutrition, education, life saving vaccines and so much more,” Lyons said. Senior and UNICEF club Secretary Ana Haynie views the club as an organization that contributes so much to others but is sometimes hard to see the help they are doing. “It’s different than most charity organizations because we can’t directly see the change that we’re making. The more people that get involved, the easier it will be to see,” Haynie said about Red Lions student body and their involvement in the club. For the last half of the year, students and faculties can look for fundraisers from the UNICEF club including a tie-dye t-shirt sale for World Water Week in the spring, and also car washes towards the end of the year.
